Dear Sandoval CUSD 501 Community:

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  The buzz and excitement for a new school year is impossible to resist! It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as District 501’s Superintendent of Schools, and I look forward to working with each of you again this year.

Looking back, the 2017-2018 academic year was a significant transition for our great district. In June, we bid farewell to our senior class. Now, looking forward, we proudly welcome incoming kindergarteners who will be our graduating class of 2031! We can be certain, between now and then, all Sandoval CUSD 501 students will experience rigorous and engaging academic programming. Many staff spent their summer developing and aligning curriculum, and such commitment to excellence is truly appreciated. As the work continues into the 2018-2019 school year and beyond, our rich tradition of hard work and innovation carries us on our path to becoming a top school district in Illinois.

Please join me in welcoming our new staff to our Sandoval CUSD 501 school community:

  • Ms. Megan Price, Principal of Sandoval Jr/Sr High
  • Mr. Chris Young, Jr/Sr High Instructional Coach
  • Mr. Chris White, Jr High Science Teacher
  • Ms. Jeana Brandmeyer, Elementary PE Teacher
  • Mrs. Cara Garner, District Administrative Assistant/ Accounts Payable
  • Jacqueline Reiter, Elementary Special Education Teacher
  • Anthony Bechelli, Jr/Sr High Special Education Teacher
  • Katherine Schnefke, HS English Teacher
  • Djuna Evans, Pre-K Aide

We look forward to their contributions, and wish them a successful career in Sandoval!

Working together, we can bring our schools to the next level and continue to make Sandoval a special place to learn, live, and shine. The first day of class is Tuesday, August 21, 2018 and I can’t wait to see our efforts come to fruition as our students thrive academically and socially and emotionally!

As usual, I encourage everyone to immerse themselves in our school culture and become an active part of the school community. For the latest news and events, schedules at our schools and for daily updates, follow us on Facebook@SandovalCUSD#501 and our District website @ www.Sandoval501.org.

I am looking forward to seeing you on the first day of school, and here’s to a healthy, productive, and rewarding academic year!

It’s a great day to be a Blackhawk!
