Anderson commits to Greenville College

Sandoval High School’s high scoring guard LaRon Anderson has signed his letter of intent with Greenville College. Throughout the 2015-2016 basketball season Anderson was highly scouted by various college teams from NAIA and the NJCAA. Ultimately Anderson signed with the NCAA Division III Greenville Panthers. “I just felt the most comfortable on Greenville’s campus and with their coaches and it’s a four year school which was important to me and has a great Criminal Justice program. I went to several workouts with other teams but the atmosphere while on campus and GC’s Coach Barber made the decision easy.”
Anderson’s scoring ability is perfect with Greenville’s program which lead all NCAA colleges in scoring 114 points per game last season helping them win the regular season SLIAC Conference Championship and narrowly missing the NCAA Division III Tournament. Anderson who was second in Illinois across all classifications in scoring averaging 27.4ppg and posting scoring highs over 40 points on five separate occasions this past season. He also went on to break the Sandoval High School Men’s scoring record held for 35 years by Dave Finney of Centralia amassing 1,751 career points.  Anderson a 5’9 PG plays AAU ball for Southern Illinois Selects out of Marion, IL was a Midland Trail Conference 1st Team Selection throughout high school as well as a two time Illinois All-State selection. The former Sandoval Blackhawk plans to major in Criminal Justice with hopes of working with the Illinois State Police.
